
Terms & Conditions
The Gateway to TECH Platform is an online competition and assessment platform operated by VFGL Tech. It is designed to identify, reward, and nurture exceptional mathematical talent among Nigerian youths. The platform delivers a rigorously proctored Advance Mathematics examination, through which top performers are awarded cash prizes, scholarships, and access to technology education and career mentorship

Eligibility:
To participate in the Gateway to TECH, all users must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian youth aged between 15 and 21 years at the time of registration.
- Provide accurate and verifiable personal details, including full name, date of birth, school information, email address, and phone number.
- Participants aged 15 to 17 years must obtain and submit a valid Parental or Guardian Consent Form before being granted access to the platform.
- VFGL Tech reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to have provided false or misleading eligibility information.

Registration & Account:
All users must create an account on the Gateway to TECH Platform to participate. By registering, you confirm that:
- All information submitted is true, accurate, current, and complete.
- You will keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
VFGL Tech reserves the right to suspend or disable accounts with fraudulent or misleading information.

Entry Fee & Payment:
Participation in the Gateway to TECH requires payment of a non-refundable entry fee of ₦1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per participant.
Automated Payment (Primary)
- Payments are processed through Flutterwave, a secure third-party payment gateway.
- Upon successful payment, your status will be updated to Paid & Verified and you will gain immediate access to exam materials, mock exams, and the live examination when available.
Manual Bank Transfer:
- If online payment is unavailable, participants may complete payment via bank transfer and upload their payment receipt.
- Manual payments will be placed in Pending Review status until verified by an admin.
- Platform access remains restricted until manual payment approval is confirmed.
Note: The ₦1,000 entry fee is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to withdrawal, disqualification, or technical issues attributable to the participant.

Parental & Guardian Consent:
Participants aged 15 to 17 years are required to submit a completed and signed Parental or Guardian Consent Form before accessing any part of the platform beyond registration. The following conditions apply:
- Where a parent or guardian has an email address, digital consent will be requested directly.
- Where no email address is available, the participant must download, complete, sign, and upload the Parental Consent Form via their registration dashboard.
- Payment and platform access will remain blocked until consent is reviewed and approved by the VFGL Tech operations team
- VFGL Tech targets a consent review turnaround within 24 hours of submission.

Examination Rules & Conduct:
By accessing the live examination, all participants agree to abide by the following rules:
- The examination consists of 15 multiple-choice Advance Mathematics questions and must be completed within a strict 25-minute time limit.
- Participants must be seated in a quiet, well-lit environment with a stable internet connection for the duration of the exam.
- No external assistance, reference materials, calculators (unless expressly permitted), or communication with third parties is permitted during the exam.
- Participants must not open additional browser tabs, switch applications, or navigate away from the exam window.
- The use of artificial intelligence tools, scripts, or automated assistants during the exam is strictly prohibited and constitutes cheating.
- The examination timer will be visible throughout. Upon expiry, the system will automatically submit all answers recorded at that point
- Answers are auto-saved every 30 seconds. Participants who experience a brief internet disconnection may resume without loss of saved progress.

Proctoring & Monitoring:
The Gateway to TECH operates a mandatory proctoring system to protect the integrity of the examination. By starting the exam, all participants explicitly consent to the following:
- Webcam, microphone, and full screen activity will be recorded for the entire duration of the examination session.
- An AI-assisted proctoring system will actively monitor for suspicious behaviours, including but not limited to: repeated tab switching, background voices or sounds, unusual eye movement, and prolonged absence from the camera frame.
- Sessions flagged by the automated system may be reviewed by authorised VFGL Tech operations staff.
- All proctoring recordings are encrypted and stored securely in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)
- The exam will not commence unless webcam and microphone access are granted. Refusing to grant access constitutes withdrawal from the examination.
VFGL Tech targets a false-positive flag rate of no more than 5% and commits to fair, evidence-based review of all flagged sessions before any disqualification decision is made.

Disqualification & Integrity Violations:
VFGL Tech reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to have committed any of the following:
- Providing false registration or identity information.
- Sharing login credentials or allowing another person to sit the examination on their behalf.
- Receiving external assistance during the exam, whether in person or remotely
- Using AI tools, scripts, or any automated aid during the examination
- Tampering with or attempting to circumvent the proctoring system.
- Engaging in any conduct that undermines the fairness or credibility of the competition.
Disqualified participants will be notified by email. Disqualification decisions are final and no refund of the entry fee will be issued. All disqualification decisions are logged and form part of the auditable record of the examination.

Results, scoring & Leaderboard:
- All multiple-choice questions are scored automatically by the platform. Results will be finalized and published within 24 hours of the examination.
- A public leaderboard will be published within 24 hours of the examination, ranked by score and, where applicable, time of completion.
- Non-winning participants will appear anonymously on the public leaderboard. Winners will be clearly identified.
- Score modifications may only be made by an authorized administrator. All changes are logged with identity and timestamp.
- Participants may submit a result appeal within the appeal window communicated post-exam. VFGL Tech will review and respond to all appeals with justification.
- Finalized results will be locked after the defined post-exam cutoff period.

Prizes,scholarships & Rewards:
Top performers in the Gateway to TECH are eligible for the following rewards, subject to successful identity verification:
- Cash prizes, the amounts of which will be communicated prior to the examination date.
- Scholarship opportunities, as made available by VFGL Tech and partner organizations.
- Enrolment into VFGL Tech’s technology training and mentorship programme, targeting at least 25 top performers per edition.
All prizes and scholarships will be distributed within the timeline communicated at the time of results publication. VFGL Tech commits to 100% fulfilment of all announced rewards within the stated period. Rewards are subject to successful completion of winner identity verification as described in Section 10.

Winner Identity Verification:
The top 25 finalists will be required to complete an additional identity verification step before prizes are distributed. This process includes:
- Confirmation of National Identity Number (NIN) via manual verification.
- Reconfirmation of personal details as submitted during registration.
- Winners who fail or refuse to complete verification within the stipulated deadline will forfeit their prize, which may be reallocated at VFGL Tech’s discretion.
- All winner identity records are handled in accordance with the NDPR and VFGL Tech’s data privacy obligations.

Data Privacy & NDPR Compliance:
VFGL Tech is committed to protecting the personal data of all platform users. By using this platform, you agree to the collection and processing of your data as follows:
- Personal data collected during registration (including name, date of birth, school details, contact information, and exam performance) will be used solely for the administration of the Gateway to TECH.
- Proctoring recordings are encrypted, stored securely, and automatically deleted 30 days after the examination date.
- Data will not be sold, transferred, or disclosed to third parties except where required by law or with your explicit consent.
- NIN details will only be confirmed through a secure manual verification process strictly for winner validation, and no NIN data will be retained at any point

- All data processing is conducted in full compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

Platform Access & Availability:
- VFGL Tech targets a platform uptime of 99% or above during the live examination window.
- In the event of a platform outage or technical failure affecting a significant number of participants, VFGL Tech reserves the right to reschedule or extend the examination window
- Access to mock exams, exam rules, syllabus, and the live examination is granted only after successful

- VFGL Tech reserves the right to suspend platform access for any user found to be in breach of these Terms.

Support & Communication:
VFGL Tech provides participant support through the platform helpdesk. The following commitments apply:
- Support requests submitted during the examination period will receive a response within 2 hours on average.
- All support tickets are logged, tracked, and visible to the operations team.
- High-priority technical issues raised during the live exam will be escalated immediately.
- VFGL Tech will notify participants of all key milestones including registration confirmation, payment status, exam schedule, results, and winner announcements via email and SMS

Limitation of Liability:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, VFGL Tech shall not be liable for:
- Any loss arising from internet instability, power outages, or device failure on the part of the participant during the examination.
- Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss suffered as a result of participation in, or exclusion from, the Gateway to TECH.
- Any delay in prize or scholarship distribution caused by factors beyond VFGL Tech’s reasonable control.
VFGL Tech’s total liability to any participant, in any circumstances, shall not exceed the value of the ₦1,000 entry fee paid by that participant.

Amendments to These Terms:
VFGL Tech reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Where material changes are made, participants will be notified via the email address registered on their account at least 48 hours before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16.0
Governing Law:
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
